Frequently Asked Questions

So we have designed this page to answer a lot of frequently asked questions, if you do have a question that is not listed below then please do not hesitate to contact us.

1. What to expect when i arrive? 
Once all your group has arrived, You will be greeted at our reception area by a friendly face to give your group an all-important site safety brief. You will then be handed over to your personal instructor and after an activity safety brief you will be straight in to the activities you have chosen - Let the competition commence. 

2. What is included in the experiences? 
Absolutely everything to participate in the activity, this includes a safety briefing, tuition by our  instructors, equipment hire, clays, cartridges or pellets as appropriate. 
Our activity pages have a detailed breakdown of what is included for your chosen activity.

3. Can pregnant people do any activities?
Yes there are some activities pregnant people can do. Please see individual activity pages.

4. What is the minimum age?
Each activity varies, Please see individual activity pages. However it is not always about the age, each person must be able to do the activity safely, if a person can not hold/use the equipment safely the instructor will stop the activity.   

5. Do you offer Blue Light, Military or Student Discount?
Unfortunately not, however we do offer group discounts. Please see prices on individual activity pages. 

6. Is there a carpark?
Yes we have a large carpark that is free of charge and can be accessed by coaches.

7. When and where do the experiences take place?
All Activities and packages must be booked in advance, and we are open 6 days a week (Monday - Saturday)
Your Experience will take place at Field Sport UK Activity Centre on the Leicestershire / Derbyshire Boarder. View our address, map and opening hours.

8. Will I get wet if it rains?
Most activities are under cover however some are not for safety reasons. We advise wearing appropriate clothing for the weather on the day.

9. Is equipment provided?
Yes all equipment is provided for each experience, and included in the price so there are no hidden costs when you arrive.

10. Do I need any experience or licence?
No, no experience or licence is required. Our instructors will take you through everything you need to know as well as having fun!

11. Do I need to book?
Yes all experiences have to be prebooked, either by our website enquiry form or calling 01283763350 or emailing info@fieldsportuk.co.uk

12. Do you have specialist adaptive equipment needed for my Disability
Unfortunately we do not have adaptive equipment however sometimes it is not needed. We use best practice for all activities and will only allow experiences to go ahead if each person is safe to do the activity, if a person can not hold/use the equipment safely the instructor will stop the activity. 

 

13. Can I bring my dog / assistance dog?
Yes, However dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. You will need to hold your dog yourself which could impact how we have to run your event. 

14. Can I walk around your woodland?
No, I am afraid due to the nature of the activities we have on site, we do not have any public right of ways that you can use around our woodland. 

15. Can I bring Spectators?
Yes, however we ask that spectators are kept to a minimum to stop areas becoming overcrowded. Younger Children can sometimes get quite bored with watching and i am afraid we have no areas for them to play with it being a shooting venue. 

16. Do I need any experience or licence?
No, no experience or licence is required. Our instructors will take you through everything you need to know as well as having fun!

17. Do you have a cafe on site?
No, unfortunately not. We do have bottled water on site for sale, you are most welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks however all litter must be taken away with you. We can organise food and unlimited drinks for groups sizes of 10 or more. 

18. Do you need my confirmed group size?
Yes, This is to allow us to organise your experience with the correct amount of time, equipment and instructors need. We are unable to offer refunds for group members that have been confirmed but can change a name on a booking free of charge.

19. Can I change my date/time/activity?
No, unfortunately not for the activity centre to run efficiently all of this information needs to be confirmed upon booking in. 

20. Can I add a person?
We will do our very best to add additional people to your booking however it is not always possible for various reasons including group ratios and timings. 

21. Do you score the events?
We do indeed and score sheets will be emailed to the group leader after the event. We also offer medals for groups of 4 or more.

22. Will there be other people in my group?
Not for groups of 4 people and above except for your instructor. groups of less than 4 may be mixed.
